These safe work practices are part of the College of Marins Injury and Illness Prevention Program and are required by Cal/OSHA. Employees shall follow these safe work practices while performing work activities at all times.

- Various chemicals are involved in negative film processing and photo development. All staff and students must be familiar with the Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for these chemicals and comply with the Marin Community College District Hazard Communication Program.
- Some individuals may be sensitive to photographic chemicals, leading to skin issues. Use protective gloves. Additionally, proper handwashing after handling chemicals and using moisturizer can help manage skin conditions.
- Regularly inspect and service the ventilation system to ensure optimal air quality in the photography lab.
